Beneath Bus Stations and Breweries: Recent Discoveries from Roman Leicester
Mathew Morris from University of Leicester Archaeological Services will give the first talk of 2018 on 18th January at 7.30pm at the University of Leicester, George Davies Building, Centre for Medicine, Lancaster Road (see other post for directions and details of this venue).
Mathew will provide a review of some of the recent archaeological discoveries in Leicester and what they tell us about the Roman town. The talk will focus on recent excavations at the former Southgates Bus Depot and the All Saints’ Brewery site on Highcross Street (visited by the Fieldworkers last year). which have both revealed exciting new evidence for Roman roads, buildings and mosaics.
