Medieval Earthworks of South-West Leicestershire

The medieval earthworks of South West Leicestershire by Robert F Hartley records the ‘humps and bumps’ that are the remains of the medieval landscape of the Borough of Hinckley and Bosworth.

These include remains of shrunken and deserted villages, manor houses, monastic granges, castles, ponds and gardens as well as a full mapping of the ridge and furrow that is the remains of the former open field systems.
