Peter Liddle MBE, former County Archaeologist, regularly runs short 6 week courses around the County on archaeology in Leicestershire and Rutland. If you have a group or venue that would like to run these courses please contact Peter as below.
The courses cost £30 per person for the series or £6 per person for individual lectures including refreshment. Each lecture lasts for about 2 hours with a break for refreshment in the middle.

The Archaeology of Tudor and Stuart Leicestershire and Rutland at Melton Carnegie Museum. February 8th – March 22nd, 11am – 1pm. A series of 6 lectures on the archaeology of the period from the end of the medieval to the eve of the Industrial Revolution locally with an emphasis on East Leicestershire and Rutland. More Archaeology from Leicestershire and Rutland at Rutland County Museum. February 28th – April 4th, 2pm – 4pm. A series of 6 lectures looking at a number of diverse themes in Leicestershire and Rutland archaeology including medieval pilgrimage, how to build a castle, and the archaeology of the Oakham area.
