Peter Liddle MBE, former County Archaeologist, regularly runs short 6 week courses around the County on archaeology in Leicestershire and Rutland.  If you have a group or venue that would like to run these courses please contact Peter as below.

The courses cost £30 per person for the series or £6 per person for individual lectures including refreshment. Each lecture lasts for about 2 hours with a break for refreshment in the middle.

Forthcoming courses

Peter will be starting the following course in January and February 2020

A Long View of Leicestershire and Rutland Archaeology at Melton Carnegie Museum. The course starts on Friday January 24th, 11am – 1pm. Price: £30 for the series or £6 per lecture (Refreshments included in the price).  This will be a series of talks following a theme from the earliest times to the present.  These will be Religion on January 24th; Houses and settlements on January 31st;  Everyday life (including looking at real objects from the past) on February 14th; The Countryside (landscapes and settlement patterns) on February 21st; Towns and other central places on  February 28th; and Burying The Dead on March 13th.

Pete will also be running his Discovering Leicestershire Archaeology at The Guildhall in Leicester from Thursday February 27th, 2pm to 4pm. Price: £30 for the series or £6 per lecture (Refreshments included in the price).
