Archaeological fieldwork throughout Leicestershire


As Jewry Wall has closed meetings are now held at Leicester University, George Davies Building, Centre for Medicine, Lancaster Road/University Road. Admission to meetings is free for members, non-members can attend free as their first visit and then decide if they would like to join the Society. Please contact us if you would like to attend or just turn up and make yourself known to a member of the committee, occasional attendance without membership is also welcome. Regular talks and meetings are also held by local groups, currently Hinckley Archaeological Society and Melton Fieldworkers have a talks programme and other groups meet regularly to plan and review finds etc, please see the Local Groups webpage for more details.

Dr Phil Harding (not the Time Team one!). This replaces Gavin Speed on the Stibbe site who will give this lecture next year.

Matthew Beamish from ULAS will talk about the rare discovery of an Iron Age shield at the site of the new Everards Brewery in Enderby.
