Archaeological fieldwork throughout Leicestershire

50yrs of Archaeology

November 7, 2020

If you missed Peter Liddle’s lecture in September, it is now available below to watch in full. The lecture marked, almost to the day, the 50th anniversary of Peter Liddle’s first archaeological excavation in Leicestershire and the talk ‘50 Years of Leicestershire Archaeology’ looks back on how archaeology has changed in that time and at some of the highlights of discoveries in Leicestershire and Rutland over the last 50 years. Peter Liddle is Chair of the Leicestershire Fieldworkers and, before retirement was Leicestershire’s Archaeological Survey Officer, Keeper of Archaeology and Community Archaeologist.
